Trump White House Undergoes Shift In Policy And Tone Toward Foreign Policy | Morning Joe | MSNBC

CREDIBILITY DAY BY DAY BY DAY BY
DAY. >>THAT’S NOT WHERE WE’RE GOING
TO START TODAY. >>WE’RE STARTING WITH WHAT YOU
SEE AS A SHIFT IN POLICY AND TONE.
>>HOLD ON. IT’S NOT WHAT I SEE AS A SHIFT
IN POLICY AND TONE. IT’S WHAT DAVID IGNATIUS AND A
LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE NOTING OVER THE PAST WEEK.
THOMAS FRIEDMAN AND OTHERS HAVE NOTED THERE HAS BEEN A SHIFT OF
CHANGE IN TONE AT LEAST IN FOREIGN POLICY.
>>OKAY. THERE ARE MANY THAT SEE A SHIFT
IN POLICY AND TONE TOWARD OUR POSITION TOWARD SYRIA.
THE WHITE HOUSE IS ACCUSING RUSSIA OF TRYING TO COVER UP THE
SYRIAN GOVERNMENT’S ROLE IN LAST WEEK’S DEADLY CHEMICAL WEAPONS
ATTACK. THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION SAYS
DECLASSIFIED INTELLIGENCE SHOWS THE CHEMICAL AGENT SARIN WAS
DELIVERED BY A SYRIAN REGIME AIRCRAFT.
MEANWHILE, PRESIDENT TRUMP IS BOLSTERING THE U.S. ROLE IN ONE
OF PUTIN’S MOST HATED ALLIANCES. TODAY THE PRESIDENT IS SCHEDULED
TO MEET WITH THE SECRETARY OF GENERAL OF NATO AT THE WHITE
HOUSE. THEY’RE SET TO TALK ABOUT
STRENGTHENING TIES AND PLAN TO HOLD A JOINT NEWS CONFERENCE.
YESTERDAY PRESIDENT TRUMP SIGNED A TREATY ALLOWING THE ENTRY OF
MONTH NAG GROW INTO THE PACT
WHICH WOULD EXPAND THE REACH IN EASTERN EUROPE.
PRESIDENT TRUMP WILL ALSO TRAVEL TO BRUSSELS FOR A GATHERING OF
NATO LEADERS IN LATE MAY. >>THIS IS OBVIOUSLY, NICK, A
BIG CHANGE IN WHAT’S BEEN SAID ABOUT NATO.
WE WERE WONDERING WOULD TRUMP’S CAMPAIGN RHETORIC WIN THE DAY,
WORE WOULD YOU HAVE PEOPLE LIKE GENERAL MATTIS SAYING IF NATO
DIDN’T EXIST, IT’S SO IMPORTANT, WE’D HAVE TO CREATE IT.
WHO WOULD WIN THERE? IT LOOKS LIKE HE’S LOOKING TO
HIS FOREIGN POLICY ADVISERS. >>SEEM LIKE THE MASTERS OF
POLICY ARE COMING INTO THEIR OWN.
THEY’VE HAD A COUPLE MONTHS TO GET UP TO SPEED TO FIND THEIR
WAY AROUND THE WHITE HOUSE, THIS IS TILLERSON AND MATTIS.
I DO THINK TILLERSON ALSO SAID UKRAINE SHOULD BE A CONCERN TO
TAXPAYERS. THERE’S A LITTLE BUMPINESS AND
INCONSISTENCY HERE. IF YOU LISTEN TO NIKKI HALEY YOU
HEAR ONE THING. ANY GIVEN DAY IT’S CONFUSING ALL
OVER THE PLACE. >>NOT JUST RHETORICAL.
DONALD TRUMP LAST WEEK ATTACKED RUSSIA’S CLIENT STATE IN SYRIA.
THAT WAS A LOUD STATEMENT, LETTING RUSSIA CONTROL THE
NARRATIVE AND SAY MAYBE THE CHEMICAL WEAPONS WAS A SETUP OR
THE U.S. BEHIND THEM WHICH VLADIMIR PUTIN ALLUDED TO THAT
THIS MORNING IN AN INTERVIEW. IT’S NOT JUST RHETORIC.
YOU HAD REX TILLERSON SAY RUSSIA IS EITHER INCOMPETENT OR
COMPLICIT IN THESE ATTACKS. THAT’S A LOT DIFFERENT THAN WHAT
WE’VE HEARD IN THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL.
BACKED UP LAST WEEK BY ACCIDENT.>>WE’LL TALK ABOUT IT IN A
SECOND WHERE TILLERSON WE HAD THE GAFF, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT,
BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA HE SAYS
ASSAD IS GOING TO GO, ONLY A MATTER OF TIME AND RUSSIA BETTER
GET USED TO IT. WE TALKED ABOUT THIS BEFORE, HOW
RUSSIA’S FOREIGN POLICY SINCE 1991 HAS BEEN BUILT UPON
RESENTMENT. ALL THESE PEOPLE SAYING THIS
ATTACK WAS AN INSIDE GAME, THE RUSSIANS SAID, PLEASE COME
ATTACK US, ARE FOOLS. THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE WAY
RUSSIA THINKS. TO BE THERE AND BE SEEN
BASICALLY AS COMPLETELY IMPOTENT, WE KNOW WHEN YOU’RE IN
SYRIA, WE DON’T LIKE WHAT JUST HAPPENED, WE’RE GOING TO BLOW
SOME STUFF UP. IT SENDS A WHO HISK MESSAGE TO
RUSSIA AND PUTIN. >>CHRISTMAS, THE END OF THE BOL
SHAH VIC REVOLUTION. AN INCREDIBLY FEROCIOUS RIGHT
FLANK THAT INCLUDED VLADIMIR PUTIN THAT DIDN’T WANT TO SEE
SOVIET GREATNESS GO AWAY. THEY RETURNED IN ENSUING
DECADES — AN INTERESTING COMBINATION OF A PRE WORLD WAR I
GAME. THEY WANT THE UKRAINE, THEY WANT
THE BALL TICKS, THEY WANT EYE REASON AND SYRIA.
WITH THIS NUCLEAR OVERLAY OF COLD WAR EXPANSIONISM AS WELL.
IT’S AN INTERESTING COMBINATION OF THE TWO.
MY OWN VIEW OF ALL OF THIS RIGHT NOW IS I SUSPECT PRESIDENT TRUMP
IS THE POLITICAL EQUIVALENT OF CLIMATE CHANGE.
IT’S NOT GOING TO BE ALWAYS BE HOT, ALWAYS BE HOLD.
IT’S GOING TO BE EXTREME SWINGS. YOU SAW IT IN THE SPECIAL
ELECTION IN KANSAS. YOU SEE IT IN THE RUSSIA POLICY
AND THE SYRIA POLICY. HE THRIVES ON CHAOS.
HE’S GOING TO GOVERN IN THE WAY HE CAMPAIGNED WHICH WAS
CHAOTICALLY. >>FOR A COUNTRY, MIKA, THAT IS
STEEPED AND HAS BUILT THEIR FOREIGN POLICY BASED ON
RESENTMENT, IT’S NOT BEYOND — THEY CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND
THERE’S A REASON WHY THE UNITED STATES DIDN’T GO INTO CHECK VAC
YEAH AND WE DIDN’T GO INTO HUNGARY — WAS HUNGARY ’68?
BUT WE FIRE 50 OR SO MISSILES INTO SYRIA IN 2017.
MY ONLY POINT THIS IS, THIS IS DEEPLY EMBARRASSING FOR VLADIMIR
PUTIN. YOU CAN PLAY ALL THE — VLADIMIR
PUTIN WOULD NEVER WANT TO BE SITTING IN A COUNTRY WHERE THE
UNITED STATES JUST RAN OVER HIM. IT’S INTERESTING.
>>LET’S BREAK THIS DOWN. SECRETARY OF STATE REX TILLERSON
IS WARNING IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS ABOUT ITS TIES TO SYRIA SAYING
THE ASSAD REGIME WAS, QUOTE, COMING TO AN END.
HE SAID RUSSIA IS AT RISK OF LOSING ITS RELEVANCE IN THE
MIDDLE EAST BY CONTINUING TO SUPPORT THE DICTATORSHIP.
STILL, THE NEW SECRETARY’S INEXPERIENCE IS SHOWING A BIT.
HE REPORTEDLY SAID TO A GROUP OF TOP DIPLOMATS AT TUESDAY’S G7
MEETING IN ITALY SAY, QUOTE, WHY SHOULD U.S. TAXPAYERS BE
INTERESTED IN UKRAINE, QUESTION MARK?
THAT’S ACCORDING TO FRANCE’S FOREIGN MINISTER.
>>WILLIE? >>THE STATE DEPARTMENT SAID IT
WAS A RHETORICAL QUESTION. HE WASN’T ASKING WHY THE HECK
SHOULD WE BE SPENDING OUR MONEY? IT WAS MEANT TO OPEN AN
DISCUSSION. >>WHY DID THE BIRDS GO ON
SINGING? >>EXACTLY.
>>HERE IS DAVID IGNATIUS’ PIECE THAT HE THOUGHT KIND OF PUT
THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE HERE. YOU SAY — DAVID SAID —
>>I DIDN’T WRITE THIS. I WOULD I COULD CLAIM DAVID’S
COLUMNS. >>YOU INSPIRE THE POST.
>>TRUMP’S WEEK OF GOOD DECISIONS COULD REBALANCE THE
WORLD AND THE WHITE HOUSE. THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION’S
FOREIGN POLICY HAS BEEN A DIZZYING SPECTACLE OF MIXED
MESSAGES AND POLICY REVERSELESS DURING ITS FIRST THREE MONTHS.
BUT IN LAST WEEK’S CRUCIAL TESTS, PRESIDENT TRUMP MADE GOOD
DECISIONS ABOUT SYRIA, RUSSIA AND CHINA, MOVING HIS ERRATIC
ADMINISTRATION A BIT CLOSER TOWARD THE PILLARS OF
TRADITIONAL U.S. POLICY. THE SYRIA OPENINGS GENERALLY
PRAISED AT HOME AND ABROAD HAS CONSOLIDATED THE POWER OF
TRUMP’S CORE FOREIGN POLICY TEAM IN WAYS THAT MAY ALTER THE
POLITICAL BALANCE IN THIS WHITE HOUSE.
TRUMP HAS ALSO TILTED TOWARD CHINA AND AWAY FROM RUSSIA.
THAT REBALANCING IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT TRUMP SEEMED TO FAVOR
DURING THE CAMPAIGN WHEN HE BLASTED CHINA AND WOOED RUSSIAN
PRESIDENT VLADIMIR PUTIN AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY.
BUT IT’S A MORE SENSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE COURSE.
>>NICK, I THINK THAT’S — OF ALL THE THINGS THAT WE TALKED
ABOUT, ALL THE BRIGHT SHINY OBJECTS IN FRONT OF US, I THINK
THE BIGGEST TAKEAWAY FROM THE PAST WEEK AND I WOULD SAY FOR
MOST OF THE FOREIGN POLICY ESTABLISHMENT, IT HAS BEEN
EXACTLY WHAT DAVID IGNATIUS SAID AT THE END.
IT’S NOT ABOUT SYRIA. IT’S ABOUT THE FACT THAT HE NOW
IS ACTUALLY FOCUSED ON CHINA IN A CONSTRUCTIVE WAY.
THEY HAD A VERY GOOD MEETING, AND HE SEEMS TO BE TILTING A BIT
MORE TOWARDS CHINA AND A BIT MORE AGAINST RUSSIA.
>>LOOK, THE IMPORTANT THING IS THE PILLARS OF FOREIGN POLICY
THAT DAVID MENTIONS IN THAT COLUMN.
ENGAGEMENT WITH CHINA, CARE WITH RUSSIA AND TO FOLLOW THAT PATH
TO GET MORE ON BASE WITH WHAT HAPPENED, THE ALLIANCES THAT
HAVE PROPELLED OUR STRENGTH AND PROJECTION OF POWER AROUND THE
WORLD IS ACTUALLY — IT’S EXTREMELY IMPORTANT IF YOU CAN
KEEP IT UP. OUR ALLIES WERE WORRIED UP UNTIL
NOW. THEY WERE CONSTANTLY SENDING UP
FLARES ABOUT ALLIANCES AND NATO AND U.S. MILITARY FORCE.
IT’S FASCINATING THAT YOU SAW OBAMA ALUMNI PRAISING THOSE
STRIKES IN SYRIA WHICH REALLY SUGGESTS HOW MUCH THERE WAS A
DESIRE FOR SOME KIND OF ACTION THERE AND PRESIDENT OBAMA WAS
THE LID ON IT FOR A LONG TIME, FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE.
>>I WAS SURPRISED BY JUST HOW READY THEY ALL WERE TO JUMP IN,
THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION, WHICH SUGGESTS THAT I’M SURE, PEOPLE
LIKE SAMANTHA POWER WHO I DON’T THINK SPOKE OUT ON THIS, BUT
OBVIOUSLY SHE WAS DEEPLY CONCERNED ABOUT HIS SYRIA
POLICY. BUT JOHN KERRY.
I DIDN’T HEAR TOO MUCH FROM JOE BIDEN.
ALL HIS TOP PLAYERS TOLD HIM FOR A LONG TIME, YOU CAN’T LET THIS
GO ON IN SYRIA. >>JOHN KERRY HAD A PLAN IN 2013
TO DO EXACTLY WHAT DONALD TRUMP DID LAST WEEK, WHICH WAS TO
ATTACK THE AIR FORCE ON THE GROUND AND GROUND THE PLANES SO
THEY COULDN’T CARRY OUT THOSE CHEMICAL ATTACKS.
THAT WAS OUT IN THE OPEN, IT WAS PUBLIC, HE SAID IT.
YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE OBAMA STATE
DEPARTMENT AND THE WHITE HOUSE THAT WISH OBAMA DID WHAT TRUMP
DID LAST WEEK. >>TWO OPEN ACCOUNTS ON OBAMA’S
FOREIGN POLICY LEGACY ARE SYRIA AND THE IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL, I
THINK. WE JUST DON’T KNOW HOW THOSE ARE
GOING TO TURN OUT. THAT’S WHAT EVEN IN 25 YEARS
WE’LL BE TALKING ABOUT WHAT OBAMA DID AND DID NOT DO.
>>LET’S GO TO NBC CHIEF GLOBAL CORRESPONDENT BILL NEELY IN
MOSCOW. GIVEN THE TENSION WE’RE TALKING
ABOUT, ESCALATED RHETORIC FOLLOWING LAST WEEK’S AIR STRIKE
AND THE IDEA THAT REX TILLERSON WILL CONFRONT SERGEY LAVROV
ABOUT THE RUSSIA INTERFERING IN THE U.S. PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
HOW DID IT GET GOING? >>IT BEGAN WITH A COUPLE OF
LENGTHY OPENING STATEMENTS, CERTAINLY FROM SERGEY LAVROV,
ALMOST SOUNDED LIKE A DRESSING DOWN AT ONE POINT AS REX
TILLERSON LISTENED, LAVROV SAID WE’VE HEARD A LOT OF AMBIGUOUS
AND CONTRARY IDEAS FROM WASHINGTON.
WE’VE SEEN A LOT OF TROUBLING ACTIONS IN SYRIA, AND IT’S
FUNDAMENTALLY IMPORTANT THAT THESE ACTIONS DON’T HAPPEN AGAIN
IN THE FUTURE. HE ALSO SAID IT’S IMPORTANT FOR
US TO UNDERSTAND THE REAL INTERESTS OF THE UNITED STATES.
I THINK LAVROV SIGNALING THERE THAT THEY WANT CLARITY FROM
AMERICA. IS IT ASSAD MUST GO OR NOT?
REX TILLERSON REPLIED TO THAT SAYS HE WANTED TO IDENTIFY AREAS
OF SHARP DIFFERENCE AND COMMON INTEREST.
EVEN WHEN OUR TACTICAL APPROACHES MIGHT BE DIFFERENT.
I THINK THAT WORD TACTICS IS SIGNIFICANT.
TILLERSON ISN’T GOING IN THERE WITH AN ULTIMATUM OR A DEMAND.
I THINK HE’S GOING TO FOCUS ON THE TACTICS.
YOU, RUSSIA, MAY THINK IT’S TACTICALLY WISE IN SYRIA TO ALLY
YOURSELVES WITH ASSAD, WITH IRAN, WITH HEZBOLLAH, BUT
STRATEGICALLY, GLOBALLY DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?
IS IT IN YOUR GLOBAL INTEREST TO BE ALLIED WITH THESE PEOPLE?
HOW IS IT GOING DOWN IN THE SUNNI ARAB WORLD, FOR EXAMPLE?
RUSSIA HAS SAID WE ARE NOT WEDDED TO ASSAD.
OUR SUPPORT FOR HIM IS NOT UNCONDITIONAL.
REX TILLERSON WANTED TO KNOW UNDER WHICH CONDITIONS WOULD YOU
BE PREPARED TO GET RID OF ASSAD AND HOW LONG MIGHT THAT TAKE?
ONE AMAZING STATEMENT THAT CAME OUT AS THEY WERE MEETING, FROM
VLADIMIR PUTIN ON A RUSSIAN TELEVISION INTERVIEW THAT WILL
BROADCAST TONIGHT, PUTIN HAS SAID THE LEVEL OF TRUST BETWEEN
THE U.S. AND RUSSIA HAS DETERIORATED UNDER DONALD TRUMP.
NOW, THAT’S PRETTY ASTONISHING WHEN YOU THINK OF THE LEVEL OF
TRUST THAT HE HAD WITH BARACK OBAMA WHICH WAS ZERO, NIL.
HE’S NOW SAYING IT HAS DETERIORATED UNDER DONALD TRUMP.
SO THAT MESSAGE FROM PUTIN, HE ALSO SAID WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE
THAT SYRIAN FORCES USED CHEMICAL WEAPONS.
THERE IS NONE. ON THE CHEMICAL WEAPONS ISSUE,
IT COULD BE THAT LAVROV AND TILLERSON, THEY STILL BASICALLY
DON’T AGREE THAT THE SYRIAN FORCES USED CHEMICAL WEAPONS.
>>NBC’S BILL NEELY ON THE GROUND IN MOSCOW FOR US.
THANKS SO MUCH. PUTIN ACTUALLY SAID IN THAT SAME
INTERVIEW, LET THIS HANG OUT THERE THAT THE CHEMICAL ATTACKS
IN SYRIA CAME FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE, NOT THE ASSAD REGIME.
HE DIDN’T SAY EXACTLY

  1. Hungary, 1956. Czechoslovakia, 1968. But in 1980, with Pope John Paul II in Rome, the Soviets did not dare go into Poland to crush Solidarność (Solidarity). Its leader, Lech Walesa later became President of a free, democratic Poland.

  2. First foreign trip for the fake president in Brussels meeting with NATO ??? OMG I can't wait to see it !!! They are going to destroy him after all he said about NATO !!!

  3. Assad is not going to go. Already Trump does not know what to do, after bombing Syria. USA will not attack N.Korea, because S.Korea will not allow attacking the North.
USA does not know what to do about Russian invasion of Ukraine.

  4. Finally. The White House stands for what our ancestors intended it to be…the historic symbol of the home of our presidents and their families. Not just a place to be shrugged off in lieu of a resort with $200,000/yr fees.

  5. So Joe, we're going to ignore that Obama went to the Senate ave asked, aka legally requested to do the same thing the last time this happened and they, again, stonewalled him? Of course you are.

  6. I disliked because JOE interrupts everybody. I know it is called Morning Joe, but i wanna hear what the others have to say.

  7. These morons are as sure that Assad is going to go as they were that Hillary Clinton was going to win, and they are just as wrong this time. The incapability of these people to learn is amazing to see.

  8. This is Mika's show! I see her "in irritated face" but please.. JOE! STOP INTERRUPTING EVERYONE!! Would love to actually HEAR others thoughts completed, geez

  9. There is a shift in the RIGHT DIRECTION by the Trump Administration in its approach to Foreign Policy. The WEAK and FECKLESS policies of FAILED RADICAL CON-MAN Barrack Hussein Obama left behind major problems in the World that President Trump must now tackle and solve. The INCOMPETENCE of the CON-MAN has lead to a World on the brink of full-scale nuclear war. SHAME ON Barrack Hussein Obama!!!

    IN TRUMP WE TRUST!
    AMERICA 1ST!
    GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

  10. Joe, seriously stop talking over everyone. It's annoying. You are a wonderful speaker, but you are sounding as rude as Sean Hannity right now. Take a breath please.

  11. When Trump was on the campaign trail he was talking about pulling out of NATO and we shouldn't be getting into wars that are none of our business. It just goes to show you that they all say whatever they think people want to hear and then do whatever they want once they are in office.

He is as much of a warmongerer as any other president. 🙁

  12. Joe. Don't believe that Russia isn't in control here. There is a reason why the Syrian airbase wasn't destroyed. The runways were left in tact and enough warning was given that damage was limited. The Syrians are operating from this base as they were before. Assad may leave power, but it will be when and how Russia determines it should happen. I can't imagine how the base isn't a pile of rubble after we fired almost 60 tomahawk missiles. Tomahawks have a history, 99% accurate to within a few meters.

  13. GOP congress let's Trump launch 59 missiles without prior approval. Our we a nation of laws?
We the people of the United States.

  14. Have watched ~1/3 of this, and one thing strikes me, Joe, a point I think Mika is better aware of. It's a matter of public record that Vlad was KGB-Boss for Desinformatsiya – for years. Don't be so glib in discounting collusion. How many Russian casualties (0)? 6 Syrian casualties? No plane or airbase statistics? From 59 Tomahawks? Give me a break!

  15. For Trumpkins to think about: To continue my sports-team analogy from the MSNBC-TRMS story on the scam-king's arrest in Spain: Vlad's team USA isn't looking too good right now. The owner is scandal-ridden, with signs of beginning dementia, the offensive coach just got sidelined, the defensive coach from the R Embassy is doing his job, inundating YT pages with facetious, divisive comments, but flubbed the ball on the Syria strike. The top cheerleader looks good, but her gaffe in the game with China (who make her costumes) will not soon be forgotten. And her husband, top coordinator and acting coach for the offense, seems to be implicated in the betting affair on rigged games. The legal rep's confident, though: "Everything's on track!", the press rep insists. However, the players seem to be waking up to the situation, and could still turn things around… We'll see.

  16. JOE!!! LET.OTHERS.TALK. For goodness sake. How about some manners? Look up the word MANNERS. Please. Will you ever learn?

  17. He is like a Jared fan boy. It's exhausting listening to his PR. Throwing praise at Trump when he acts half normal.

  18. Last 2 Min make clear, Lavrov/Tillerson is another distraction! Rex got the Friendship Medal from Putin, for Skies-Above's sake!

  19. So, those who voted for Trump: how do you feel Trump making a 180 turn on major issues so far, didn't accomplish anything at all and flat our broke his campaign promises? How do you feel that Trump declared war on Russia (a little bit hyperbolic language of course), whereas you were told Hilary is warmongering? Me personally, I'm not surprised by anything Trump does because I was pretty sure that's how it would turn out.

  20. Trump lied about everything. Foreign Policy, Draining the Swamp, etc….Trump always changes because he only believes in himself.

  21. Hey Rex … American taxpayers of Ukrainian descent care about what your policy is regarding Ukraine … Think About It Mr Tillerson !

  22. Joe is wrong again. It's like he wants to cling to the idea that Trump is going to change our will change. Give it a week.

  23. Why is joe always a jerk who talks over everyone. That woman is a saint to put up with that dude. #goodgrief

  24. What David Ignatius stated makes me want to vomit. It's all part of the Donald's shell game.Hes distracting focus from his domestic ineptitude by playing Americas favorite card, i.e. nuke an enemy, now people focus on the enemy while I crap on your lawn.

  25. I'm confused, Congress didn't give President Obama the go to do anything in Syria? So if he followed the law why is he be criticized for it?

  26. They say Pres Obama made the US look impotent in foreign policy.  Trump proved the US is impotent. 59 cruise missles and it didn't even close the airbase.

  27. President Obama was the lid on action? WTF, he asked congress about action in Syria and the republicans said NO!

  28. Trump's meeting with the Chinese leader,  Xi – that was like a Mafioso meeting with a new business partner and doing an execution of his last business partner in front of the new partner.  Talk about intimidation. China should tell the US to F off.

  29. Americans really love it when they bomb places. It doesn't matter that they spend $120-130 on the missiles alone and that they were ineffective.

  30. Joe is seriously being weak and unable to understand he is being a turncoat over what has actually happened so far and cannot blame Bannon for the STUPID tweets or does he…? They are still out there and still speaks of this principal and seminal inability to grow up and display some adulthood to say the least, instead of playing to his gallery which is stupidity…? No matter whomsoever is closest to him NOW?

  31. Hungarian revolution took place in 1956. not 1968. Soviet invasion to Czechoslovakia took place in 1968. Just saying… everybody makes mistakes.

  32. If the guy coming in around 10:30 ever does something amazing and gets his life/achievements made into a film, Bryan Cranston will play him. Period.

  33. Trump figured out that the American people and media love war. He's going to ride that horse until it collapses. There is no more talk of Trump Putin ties. He has so called liberals and conservatives loving his new tone.

  34. joe hit the nail on the head with part of that: china is our biggest competitor and the country set to possibly surpass us, but russia is resentful from the loss. we share many interests and stronger diplomatic ties with china so we can actually work with them. russian foreign policy is contrarian by default, in many cases just to spite us, so anything constructive is unlikely.

  35. 13:20 erm why not refute this with actual evidence rather than snarky comments?
i'm still waiting for evidence and the un investigation to be complete

  36. 9:40 What BS! Assad's air force was not grounded at all. Warning the Russians so they could warn Assad of the bombing is not a show of power. Its a pure distraction. There is no more talk of Trump Russian ties. These war-hawks are going to get what they want sooner or later then they'll be the first ones whining about unneeded wars. These so called liberals all hate Trump until he launches a few missiles. Now they love him.

  37. MSNBC, you might as well just let Joe have his own show where he just talks and then have a separate show for Mika and there rest. I know it's called Morning Joe and I do like hearing (some) of Joe's points, but I feel like he's talking 85% of the time and I enjoy hearing as equally as possible from everyone on the panel.

  38. I think this is all a cheap show from Trump to make us believe that he is not Russia's puppet… something is not right here.

  39. Kushner's (baarrrfff) new best friend is a××hole Joe! Joe y don't u STOP kidding Kushner's a$$ n discuss the new UNDISCLOSED Kushner Russian meetings n the secret mercenary for hire Eric Prince story?!?!

  40. jesus…. 7 seconds in and joe with " hold on. hold on a second im mre important than you let me talk"

    Thank god for Mika

  41. Is there a logic regarding the use of chemical weapons? It seemed quite a moot attack, just for the sake of killing civilians?

  42. You got a dislike for that one guys…the foolery… why don't you talk about his stroll over to Congress before he probably thought to himself "lemme not Bush this up" 😐 Mika you're better than that 😉

  43. Why is the US addicted to supporting Muslims. Assad ui the only leader in Syria who is supporting Christians and has Christians in his government. The people US government is supporting and arming are killing Christians.

Support Christians and let Muslims sort them selves whichever way they can.

  44. This whole I'm tough on Russia is all show. The missiles did nothing strategic. Its to convince the American people that Trumps not in the Russian's pocket. Now Putin will through Assad under the bus. Trump will reward Putin for his new enlightened perspective and lift the sanctions. Putin is not our friend and never will be as long as there is something to gain from opposing us. Bottom line it is a smoke screen for the lifting of sanctions on the Exxon-Mobile oil deal which Trump owns a piece of. Trump is only moved by self interest. Look at the people involved and their interest, State department blinded, Tillerson travels with no witnesses, Sanctions on Russia block 500 billion dollar oil deal which Tillerson was in charge. This dust up in Syria just makes it easier to make direct contact with Russian partners in plain sight. Putin is not responding normally to threats it's all part of the big CON. It is maneuvering to drop the sanctions which is where the money is. If the change in Russian attitude is real demand the return of the Ukraine and pull out of Syria and admission of interference in the elections around the world and see how that goes. It's the money. My bet is Trump owns a piece of the oil deal and that is how he is paid off.
Next time bomb Damascus and see how fast something happens not a nothing air field operational in 36 hours. The purpose of any Con is to take money from innocents. Wake up America we have a con man leading the way. Beware you are at the Trump carnival and the con men are out to fleece you. Don't buy what you see on first glance.

  45. trump supporters and GOP got to be getting worried about their master ditching Bannon while getting closer to a democrats view since he almost started a war ohh my what will they do if he goes back to being a democrat!!

  46. This silly show assumes that Trump incapacitated the airbase. Yet the Syrians were running bombing missions out that same air base a few hours after the Tomahawks were launched. Given the deadly accuracy of our missiles and their awesome destructive power, I have to wonder if this attack was even intended to knock out the air base, or if it was merely a fireworks display aimed solely to put on a good show for people questioning the Russia-Trump collusion.

  47. Everybody on mainstream media still feeling aroused by 59 Tomahawk missiles, which weren't part of any coherent strategy apart from 'presidential' flexing. How much damage did the missiles do? It's hard to tell, some say 20 planes, some say 20% of Syria's airforce. Some say they managed to create a black spot on a strip of tarmac.

  48. Joe was trying to sing, "Why do the birds go on singing? Why does the sea rush to shore? Don't they know it's the End of the World. . ."

  49. Oh my – Joe the know-it-all who feels entitled to talk over everyone else at the table doesn't even know the history he tires to refer to. There was nothing of international significance taking place in Hungary in '68. That was the Soviet invasion into Czechoslovakia. The Hungarian anti-Russian uprising was in '56. Poor guy's got it all mixed up!

  50. Trump is a capitalist Russia is communist. There is no grand plan other then killing all liberals in the USA. God bless Russia.

  51. And you believe Russia and the US are at odds? It's a game to drive the investigation away from Trump. This is BS.

  52. People forget Obama went to Congress and the Republicans did nothing to okay the strike against Syria; hence, the Republicans are responsible for what is going on. Praise Trump now, but he is about to get all of you killed.

  53. Ivanka moves into the white house and there is a massive 'Shift in Policy and Tone', given all the talk about 45's mental health including poor balance, fear of stairs/steps, wandering into and out of meetings without actually doing anything and the word salad, who is actually making the decisions…

  54. Do these people really think obama would have been praised for bombing syria without permission? Congress was never going to ok a plan like that on syria at the risk of supporting obama on something.
