Blackhawk Revolver Cleaning & Assembly : How to Remove the Base Pin of a Blackhawk Revolver

Okay, we are with our Blackhawk we just got
finished checking it out, we know that it is unloaded. We are going to go towards our
first step of disassembly here. Now if you look here on the left side of the frame you
would see this little push pin and that is actually called a base pin latch. This right
here is your base pin. What you are going to need to do is just simply, I take it in
my right hand and I always set my firearm up like this and I just push that base pin
in and you are going to push it back towards the right side of the frame. Then spring load
it you would see if you accidentally touch on the wrong side. We are going to push that
pin in and with my left hand I’m going to grab this base pin latch and I’m just going
to pull that towards the end of the barrel. Now this pin is not going to come out 100%
you are going to on the injector rod it is going to touch this injector rod here and
that is just going to sit there. Here you can see that it is kind of fitted, it is bypassed
or pass just passed this base pin latch and right after this since we have finished this
we are going to move on to our next step in the disassembly.
