  1. wlamart steals 10X the amount from shoppers than thieves steal from walmart. if you spend over $100 on groceries check your receipt chances are you where over charged or didn't get that buy one get one free. twalmart steals on average 2% from shoppers. dont seem like much but add it up. my local walmart does over a million dollars a day in sales. that is $20,000 in overcharges. this happens at ever walmart everyday. they steal 10X the amount shoplifters do. Fact.

  2. Only someone who has walked out without paying at Wal Mart would ask that question. Why would that policy be an issue with an honest person?

  3. My local Wal-Mart just started getting aggressive with the receipt checks, myself I wont show a receipt I tried to be nice and said have a nice night and I got back from the Wal-Mart associate was " your gonna be like that" , so no more nicey nice. Last night I witnessed a guy wearing a bright yellow "Don't Tread On Me" sweatshirt lay down and let his rights be trampled on at the door, what a poser he should have been striped of that sweatshirt chickenshit and spineless so called man.

  4. What about when you do not bag your purchases because you are trying to not use the plastic bags and are trying to be eco friendly? If it is such a problem why do they have you check out your own items? A bag does not verify if someone paid for their items. They only stop people whos items are not bagged.

  5. so they’re gonna record me while i’m checking out and bagging my own groceries, and then ask for my receipt and look through my stuff when i just want to go home? if i stoke anything then the alarm would go off and then you can ask for my receipt.

  6. There are no people checking receipts at my Local Walmart. And to the people that say don’t give any money to Walmart why? Because they have a huge staff across the planet many jobs supporting your neighbors? Pay more than the competitors lower wages just in my area it’s a 1.50 an hr more to start than a local grocer who has over 100 stores and charges on average 20% more seems like a foolish thing to over pay while supporting someone else that doesn’t appreciate the staff as much

  7. It does not rise to the level of probable cause if you simply don’t stop. If there’s no law preventing you, no probable cause can be determined.

  8. They shouldn’t have you check your own stuff out. That’s first of all that’s on them. Second of all it’s not a club like Costco or Sam’s Club. If they are wanting to check your bag and you refuse them and they say that you are stealing from the store then you get the police involvedAnd you can sue Walmart for slandering your name and make sure you make a scene. I never stop and they asked me to check my receipt I ask them are they accused me of stealing and they say no and I continue with my day. Don’t let Walmart bully you

  9. I always stop and offer my receipt for inspection. Sometime they look at it and sometimes they just wave me by. Like they said, if you haven't stolen anything, why get upset when they ask to see your receipt???

  10. I was just threatened with arrest over a lost receipt unless I left my goods at the store, after making two purchases using two different Debit Cards (One Personal and one for Business), it may be that the cashier did not give me the second receipt as she was distracted by a manager during my process. But I only had one receipt in my wallet with cashback. I was basically told that the goods were not mine unless I Showed my receipt. As it was after Customer Service hours they said I would have to return after the weekend for Customer Service to trace the purchase and it might take several days. I have no doubt they would have detained me or contacted the police if I had tried to leave with my goods, possibly resulting in an arrest or police report for suspicion of shoplifting.

Given that I complied and only had one receipt that could have established Probable Cause and I likely would have been arrested and possibly charged with Shoplifting, something that could have taken months or years to fight a multi-million dollar organization willing to harass and extort money from innocent people and who have ruthless psychopathic attorneys skilled in convicting an innocent person rather than the cost to settle a lawsuit and resulting bad press, and as such, it would seem safer not to show your receipt.

After watching this from an attorney my "take-away" is that at Walmart you enter the store, not as a "Guest" but a Criminal Suspect, and are considered guilty until proven innocent, and therefore one of the most dangerous places you can enter.

  11. I'll show you my receipt. But you can not look at MY property that is in MY bag. And no, you can not touch my property in order to see what is under it. Don't like it? Tough.

  12. I choose not to shop at any business that does not treat me with respect as I exit the store but rather treats me like I stole something from them.

  13. It's bull for them saying we keep prices low, inventory…….. All products are insured, so they have no reason to harass patrons

  14. Saying not showing your receipt is probable cause is the same thing as a cop telling you its probable cause for not showing your ID when you didnt commit a crime.

  15. I contracted with Costco for the receipt checking. Walmart gets more and more upset everytime but I have never and will never show my receipt. Should they make the mistake of touching me, or attempting to 'detain' me … well… its a big company with deep deep pockets to pay the lawsuit.

  16. I HAVE NEVER NOR WILL SHOW THEM MY RECEIPT. I JUST WALK ON BY. IT IS CRIMMINAL AND ALL YOU PEOPLE OUT THERE QUIT DOING IT AS YO DON'T HAVE TO. BOYCOT THIS TRYANNY. DON'T ALLOW YOUR RIGHTS TO BE TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU AND THATS WHAT YOUR DOING BY SHOWING YOUR RECEIPT. IT IS NOT THE LAW. A LAW IS NOT WALMARTS POLICY. A LAW IS SEPERATE FROM A STORES POLICY A RULING, EXPECTATION'S, ECT. AND IT'S A BULLYING TACTIC METHOD OF CORPORATE CONTROL AND WE CAN STOP IT BY STOPPING THE SHOWING OUR RECEIPT FOR PAID FOR MERCHIDISE. THEY TOOK OUR MONEY IT IS OURS NOW. DOESN'T BELONG TO THEM ANYMORE. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING WE SIGNED TO LIKE AT COSTOS. AND WHEN I GET CALLED OUT ON FOR NO SHOWING THE RECEIPT I SAY TO THE LONG LINE BEHIND ME "IT IS NOT THE LAW.' AND I WALK OUT. QUIT BEING SCARED AND UPHOLD YOUR CIVIL RIGHTS AND STAND UP AGAINST THE CORPORATE BULLYING WHICH STARTS AT YOU LEAVING THE STORE. BULLYING IS AGAINST THE LAW. OR TAKE THEM TO COURT FOR STEALING YOUR BOUGHT ITEMS FOR ITS WHAT THEY THINK WHEN YOU DON'T SHOW THE RECEIPT YOU STOLE THE BOUGHT ITEMS AND NOW WON'T LET YOU HAVE YOUR BOUGHT ITEMS SO WHO JUST STOLE FROM WHO?. RECEIPT PROOF. TAKE IT TO COURT. SUE THEM FOR FALSE ACCUSATION FOR THEFT SUSPICION ON BOUGHT ITEMS, AND FOR HARRASSMENT, BULLYING, BEING DENIED OF YOUR CIVIL RIGHTS AT THEIR DOORS AS WELL. BY YOUR IN ACTION TO NOT SHOW YOUR RECEIPT IS AGAINST US ALL OF OUR CIVIAL RIGHTS TO BE DENIED. FOR ALL YOU WHO DON'T THANK YOU AND FOR THE REST OF YOU QUIT, PLEASE FOR YOUR HELPING THEM AND NOT YOURSELVES NOR THE REST OF US.

  17. I dont stop i tell then no thanks have a good day an keep walking. Sometimes they say i have to an i say no i dont an keep walking thats all i do.

  18. I usually tell the receipt Checker to either show me probable cause otherwise I'm leaving. I just walked out after that and they're usually speechless.

  19. I have ZERO issue for anyone working for any establishment that I shop in to show receipt to. What's the problem I don't get it.

  20. I’m a bigger dude….so I very rarely ever get asked for a receipt. When they’re gonna ask I just make eye contact and majority of the time they look away. 😂

  21. Any of you know what the 4th amendment is or what it says ? No you do not need to stop ! They have camera's ! Do you loose your right to free speech at Wal-Mart's door ? NO !

  22. Once you have paid for your goods and been issued a receipt, those goods, and the receipt itself, are legally your property, and have nothing to do with anyone else from that moment. If you want to smile and walk straight past any paid receipt checking gimp, you can, and there's nothing they can do.

  23. I usually stuff my receipt down into my purse and can never find it but I don't stop anyway. I always politely say, No thank you. I haven't had an issue yet.

  24. Glad to see this was reported on. I see this issue all the time and honestly I get his some feel about it as they feel it is in a sense treating shoppers as criminals unless they have a valid reason to feel one has stolen they shouldn't search your purchase of receit. I personally don't mind it but I do get the other side of others not liking it

  25. Probable cause happens before they stop you. Not after they have already stopped you. I worked LP and we had to witness it in person or have it on camera. Then after that we couldn't let them out of our sight until confronted. Otherwise they could have placed the item down and changed their mind. Then we would've detained them for no reason and faced a lawsuit. If you didn't steal anything just tell them no thank you and keep walking.

  26. If they stop you and ask for your receipt, turn around and go get your money refunded. Walmart can't stop people from stealing and taking it out on everyone. Let's be real about this.

  27. I have a friend that works at walmart and she said if there is stuff not in bags they check the receipt otherwise they dont stop.

  28. It literally takes no time to show you have a receipt and it's just a courtesy to the door watchers. It's not like they're hassling you, you shop at their store big fuckig deal. It's a private business not a subway

  29. Stores actually benefit most of the time when customers steal. Not only can they get that inventory replaced for free (in big chain retailers) but they can also claim those losses on taxes and get double to triple the value of what the items worth. (double or triple is on the low side. they get it replaced, they sell it at a profit, and they claim it at its wholesale cost.) Im by no means saying shoplifting is good, im just saying that keeping prices low is not the reason they do this. The biggest thing that keeps prices low is putting locks on a shopping cart and putting a perimeter sensor up. Shopping cart theft is what hurts most big retailers the most.

  30. My best advice is do not shop there. There are other stores with better prices and not harassment. So do you self a favor stay away from Walmart 👌

  31. I suspect that what they are actually interested in, is. . . . . marking your receipt so you will not be able to put the items in your vehicle, and then go back in, load the cart with the same items and proceed to exit without going through the check-out stand. So, validating (marking) your receipt merely nullifies its improper use.

  32. I had to purchase today one groceries on one receipt and one with electronics which was a blowup bed I was told by the cashier I would have to keep my receipt out for the blowup bed I question the person at the area where The exit was

Ask the gentleman that scanned my receipt I said what is this for it’s been a while since I’ve been to Walmart he said it’s protocol I just want to make sure you got the right purchase I said but that doesn’t answer my question why are you scanning my receipt
So I thought of those programs that they have to earn your money back you scan your receipt is this what Walmarts doing nowadays earning their own money back meaning roll up roll back prices
And steal from the customers know that I’m not on those programs to scan my receipt to track people down of what they’re purchasing daily beware of those scams I plan on returning the blowup bed it doesn’t suit my needs catchy and asked for purchasing my groceries on one receipt I paid cash because I was unable to use my credit card
It was declined but know I have the money in my acct
So I did the purchase for just the blowup bed and used my credit card ATM it went through surprisingly after I tried three times for the grocery items with the bed

The only reason I went to Walmart it was the only place in my area that I’m vacationing at to purchase food
On the road my fridge went down in the living quarters so I had to throw out my food

  33. I have my receipt in hand and they’ve never look into my bags. I find it so much easier to do what is asked of me instead of fighting the system.

  34. If it's not in a bag they ask for a receipt. They check that item I was told. If all your shopping is bagged they don't. I also say have a nice day and just walk out no one has stopped me. If they physically grab me I will knock them down.

  35. they have no legal grounds to check your receipt unless you don't show them your receipt then that gives them the right to check your receipt? dummys

  36. They only check, or at least it has been my experience, items not bagged. Why wasn't this mentioned in your piece?

  37. I belive if you have something that iant in a bag they have the right to check to make sure its paid for. People are stupid

  38. Years ago, this was never done in retailers or grocery stores. What happened for search and seizure to take place? Today, new one way swing gates are installed. It directs foot traffic through self check out. There, after purchase, a greeter is there to exercise pain. This highly trained break room employee now becomes a receipt checker and can't even read and understand receipt documentation. It has numbers with plus and minuses and equals a sum. The greeter then says you look like and minimum wage person and says, How can afford this? You must be stealing.

  39. I do a lot of shopping at Walmart and got stop a few times but only with item that can’t be bagged like big bags of dog food or cases of water, soda, but when I had everything bagged up never got stop!! And if there is a line to check receipts I just go around them and leave!!!

  40. The women was over reacting. In my local Walmart, I'm not stopped EVERY single time.

I agree that not stopping will give them a reason to believe you stole from the store.

  41. Lol….ABC talking head just told everyone to waive their legal rights and show receipts. Walmart must have big marketing contract with her news channel.

  42. why not just walk back in get your money back go somewhere else. after losing alot of money maybe they will change .

  43. the person at the door make them stand there while you pay, that will get really tiresome after awhile insist that they stand there.

  44. is why I very rarely ever shop at Wal-Mart, I go to target that doesn't treat their customers like this, as criminals..if your merchandise is a bag, you've paid for it..and not going to let wal-Mart treat me and anyone like a criminal!

  45. Most people are sheep who fear any type of confrontation. Bowing to walmart's nonsense is just giving up your rights. Don't do it. Walk past. If they dare to lay hands on you, defend yourself. 'Not stopping could give the store probable cause to detain you'??? Are you on drugs?

  46. no you arent…I just walked past them at my walmart. You are required to stop at Costco or Sams club. or another membership club, its in the contract you sign when you become a member

  47. They have 0 authority to stop me and check my property 2nd it’s a violation of my 4th amendment right. Their store policy does not give them the right to violate my constitutional rights. They have to know that I have committed a crime or at least have a VERY HIGH probable cause and not just refusal of me not showing my receipt.

  48. Wrong. Federal law supersedes city and state law. It is an illegal search without a warrant. And detaining you for it is kidnapping.
Stop being sheepeople and giving up your Constructional rights.

  49. If you haven't done anything, you have no reason not to stop. If you don't, you make yourself look guilty of something. I've been stopped several times, and they rarely go thru the whole receipt, they just look at it to check the date/time stamp and send me on my way. People do bring in old receipts and try to walk out with big-ticket items.

  50. If you haven't done anything, you have no reason not to stop. If you don't, you make yourself look guilty of something. 51. Once I was leaving China Mart and I had bags and a toddler in my arms with three other small kids…..and had just left the checkout when one asked to see the receipt, I told her seriously????? I have all these kids and don't know which bag its in so just call the police if you think I stole something because I am leaving. They didn't…………………They can't detain you…………………..you walk out and they stop you and you did nothing wrong you can sue them.

  52. this idiot does not know what she is talking about. and it spreads, she knows an idiot cop and lawyer.
let me give you a clue, chicklet; you pop into my store, i ask you to play you show me yours i will show you mine. chicklet walks away from me because she is wall-hittin cute and i am hideous, so she will not be playing. by her walking away i now have the RAS/PC to frisk her. that is what her lawyer idiot-expert said. oh and please name your anonymous lawyer, with those excellent lawyering skills i am sure they would want their name out there. for all the business. we promise not to mock your imaginary lawyer.

  53. Remember Hillary Clinton's position at Walmart as a major shareholder and board of directors. If you walk out without show your receipt, you might be find yourself later talking to men in trenchcoats presenting you a nearly forged suicide note in what looks like your own handwriting. 😳🐎💨🙉🤣
👇 LIKE if you get the joke

  54. Here is what you do. When asked say: Sure you can see my receipt for $50. You did not refuse to show it so there is no probable cause to stop you. If they refuse to pay, they refused not you and you are home free. If they are dumb enough to pay you the $50 you are even better off. Never forget your receipt and merchandise belong to YOU not Walmart. You can charge them to look at or touch your stuff. Just like they charged you to remove their stuff fro the store.

  55. With a creepy smile she reports and admits loud and clear everyone that shops and buys from Walmart is a potential criminal. Everyone. Don't forget the cheesy smile

  56. I no longer stop because it is a nuisance. Especially when I already have my receipt put away and hands are full. When they ask to see my receipt I simply tell them no and continue to walk. I DIDN’T STEAL THE 36 PACK OF WATER THAT DIDN’T FIT IN A PLASTIC BAG!!

  57. Nope I refuse. Tell them to look at all those cameras they have installed. Walmart’s theft isn’t my issue and they can’t stop me for it.

  58. Their bag search is a total farce anyway. My wife and I once went through different checkouts with different carts. We paid for everything. As a test, I put three of her bags into my cart. I was asked to show my receipt, which I did. The rocket scientist in the yellow vest did not detect that not everything in my cart was shown on my receipt. My position is either accuse me of shoplifting and call the police, or leave me alone. Whenever I’m asked to submit to a yellow vest search I politely decline and keep walking.

  59. Someone should start a petition against Walmart on like change.org to stop them from doing this unlawful act. The receipt and purchases are your property.
