Alize Country ile Bere Boyunluk Yapımı- Making Knitting Cowl and Hat with Alize Country
Welcome to Alize Knitting and Design Corner. How are you Tülin? I’m fine thank you. I’m thinking about what you’ll teach us today but I see a lot of knitting hat in here. Yes, we’ll make very special knitting berets and cowls today. We’ll use big loop technique which is very trendy in all over the world. We used this special design multi-coloured Alize Country 5801 for this hat. We’ll use different needle numbers for this work. Today, we’ll work with using solid colour yarn as this one for better understanding of the audience. We have a lot of different beret models in here. For example, this one is sports hat with a big pompom. This knitted cowl is also fitted with the hat. You can wrap 2 times like this. You can knit this cowl with using 2 balls of yarn. We’ll use 1 ball of yarn for the hat, half ball of the yarn for the pompom and 2 balls of yarn for the cowl. It looks like the yarn of the hat is thicker and the yarn of the pompom is thinner. Are both of them made from the same yarn? Yes, it has a different technique. I’ll show later. This knitted hat is made with using Alize Country Lux 5296. We can also make these kind of hats for children. You can also make coloured pompoms with black hat like this. And I want to show this model for men. You can make and give these hat and cowl as very beautiful gifts for men. You can make mother and daughter or dad and son gift sets. Let’s start with using Alize Country 21 for making our hat. We’re using needle no.15. and needle no.10. to give this trendy look to our beret. Cast on 22 stitches with using needle no.10. Cast on 22 stitches for both types of hats. There is an important point. We shouldn’t cast on alongside. Check out the space as you cast on, there should be an amount of spaces between stitches. There should be two fingers sized space between stitches. It should be loose. Now we’re starting to use needle no.15. Work the stitches as purl. Wrap yarn 2 times. We’re using needle no.15 and no.10 for the loose beret and needle no.12 and no.10 for the sports hat with pompom. We’re using needle no.15 and no.10. for all types of cowls. We worked 1row as purl stitch with wrapping yarn 2 times. Now, we’re starting to use needle no.10 again. Work the stitches as knit. There is a difference between big loop and ripping out technique. Big loop technique makes the knitting more tight. It’s useful for the beret. Finish this row working in this way. Work 1 row the stitches as purl with using needle no. 15. and 1 row the stitches as knit with using needle no. 10. until 6 front rows (12 rows in total) finished. Work 2 stitches together as purl and wrap the yarn 2 times. We’re making closing work. We’re decreasing 22 stitches to 11 stitches We’re opening the stitches. If knitting 6 rows is big for your head you can also work 5 rows. Start with measuring your
head. Take stitches with using hook. Turn down the beret. Pass the yarn from the purl stitches while sewing. Now we’re making pompoms. It’s a little bit different. Untwist one side of the yarn like this. This is about the design of Alize Country yarn. Close stitches when you want to finish untwisting. Wrap the thin yarns in any size you want to make your pompom. Half ball of yarn is used for this pompom. Cut and tie from the middle. Let’s show how to make cowl. If you want to make your cowl tight, cast on 10 stitches with using needle no.15. If you want to make a cowl looking like this, cast on 22 stitches. Work 7 front rows (14 rows in total) in the same way with the beret and close the stitches. Work until 1 ball of yarn is finished. (for the loose beret’s cowl) When closing stitches knit 1 stitch, pass the knitted stitch over the next stitch. Sew the cowl keeping from the both sides. We’ll show how to make this vest on the next episode. Thank you very much. Hope to see you again.
